Integrative Counselling

Integrative Counselling offers an approach that focuses on your needs throughout, adapting the therapy to your individual requirements and presenting problems at that time.

At the start of your journey a more Person-Centred Approach may be needed. Further down the road CBT skills may be appropriate to facilitate recovery, support and wellbeing. The number of sessions required is individual and varies from client to client.

Types of Therapy

There are many types of varied counselling modalities. However, the heart of counselling remains the same, to enable individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe and confidential space.

My approach is to integrate skills form many areas to utilise within the sessions at any given time. Such as:

Person-centred therapy (Talking Therapy) is a humanistic approach that deals with the ways in which individuals perceive themselves consciously. Facilitating a space in which individuals can explore their feelings, thoughts and worries.

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) is a type of CBT that focuses on self-compassion for those suffering from high self- critical thoughts and shame. Uses tools such as compassionate mind training for developing a kinder compassionate self.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) - Designed to help those who experience persistent bouts of depression, it helps people to live and experience things with a more present mind. Mindfulness is a powerful tool in helping those with stress, depression and PTSD.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

CBT is a talking therapy that helps you to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, how these interlink, affect each other and the impact they can have upon your life. CBT facilitates an empowering experience as people become more aware and feel more in control. Typically, around 10 sessions are required, although more may be needed dependant on the circumstances of the individual.
